Passionate About Inspiring Others
The soccer goalkeeper is one of the most diverse players on the field as they are the last line of defense and the first line of attack. To play the position well requires special skills and training.
As a teacher, I had the opportunity to coach high school soccer. When my own kids got old enough, they began playing soccer like most kids their age. Shortly afterwards, I began coaching their house league teams as well. Then it happened. My son hurt his foot badly and couldn’t run well. He volunteered to go in the goal, a position most youngsters do not volunteer to play. He fell in love with the position forcing a shootout in our final playoff game that season. That was 9 years ago, and he has guarded the net ever since.
What started out as a learning experience quickly turned into a passion for both of us. So, we started to focus on this very specialized position, taking notes from anyone who would share their knowledge, in person and on-line. We received guidance from Coach Tania Singfield @ Golden Gloves Academy in Ottawa and worked with David Monsalve when he was with the Ottawa Fury. I have also completed the Goalkeeper Coach Diploma and the Goalkeeper Coach Certificate offered by Ontario Soccer.
Our focus is on the development of young keepers following the Ontario Soccer guidelines. We want to provide an inexpensive training option for keepers in the Cornwall Ontario area so they do not need to travel to Ottawa or Montreal. Our goal is to provide quality training and coaching, in a fun and encouraging environment.
